Dr. Ben Harrison MD, FAAEM, COL, USA (ret)

Dr. Ben Harrison is a Board-Certified, full-time practicing emergency physician and EMS Base Station Director in the Pacific Northwest. A retired Army Colonel, he has over 25 years of active civilian and military emergency medicine experience across the U.S. During his 15-year tenure as an emergency medicine residency director, Dr. Harrison authored numerous publications, served as a reviewer of multiple emergency medicine journals, and lectured nationally at emergency medicine conferences to include several Advanced Wilderness Medicine courses. Some other of his leadership roles include Iraqi Theatre Emergency Medicine Consultant to the Surgeon General and Chief of Emergency Services with the 28th Combat Support Hospital, Ibn Sina (“Baghdad ER”), the busiest military trauma center in the world at the time.

Currently, Dr. Harrison provides medical direction and training for executive protection services at a corporate level. Ben cofounded a private medical consulting company that offers a wide variety of services, ranging from COVID 19 guidance to medical training and risk analysis for private and corporate organizations. In his role as medical director and consultant, he has coordinated and assisted with complex medical evacuations across the world. Dr. Harrison has traveled extensively overseas in this role as he develops evacuation and safety planning for these entities, while also providing personal concierge medical care for clients.

Dr. Harrison enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and children. He is a die-hard sportsman who likes watching and playing a multitude of different sports. He was the captain of his collegiate soccer team and continues to play indoor soccer, basketball and volleyball as well as coaching his childrens’ soccer and volleyball teams. He is an avid outdoorsman who appreciates the beauty of the Northwest, frequenting the mountains as he hikes, camps and skis. Dr. Harrison loves training and working with his Brittany spaniel in the field. He also enjoys boating and fishing in the ocean and local rivers.
