Randy

Randy is a decorated combat veteran with extensive experience and a wide set of abilities in adventure sports, trauma, medicine, and effective casualty care in remote settings. Through his career in Special Forces and beyond, Randy has spent decades as a leader in the areas of medical simulation, medical training, tactical combat casualty care, remote medicine, and paramedic work. Randy retired as a Master Sergeant from the 1st Special Forces Group (SFG). While in Special Forces (SF), Randy was an SF Weapons sergeant (18B) and an SF Medical sergeant (18D).

He was the senior mountaineering instructor to 1st SFG for 16 years and a key leader in the development of the USASOC Mountaineering School. He has planned and executed three international mountaineering expeditions and has climbed over 20k feet without supplemental oxygen three times and was part of the 1st American team to summit Nanda Devi East. Randy has a passion for high altitude medicine but also has held certifications as a dive medical technician.

While on active duty he saw three combat deployments in three different theaters and deployed to 19 countries in Central America, Asia, and the Middle East. Additionally, he managed humanitarian medical operations in foreign countries. This typically included caring for children, providing veterinary care, and preventive medicine for basic hygiene and welfare.

Because he attended Physician Assistant school, he has a master’s level understanding of human physiology. Additionally, he worked with the US State Department as a tactical paramedic to the US embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Randy’s certifications and accreditations include SF sniper, SF Master Mountaineering Instructor, Jungle Warfare and Survival Instructor, Nationally Registered Paramedic, SF Dive Medical Technician, and Hyperbaric Medical Technician. He is certified as a USASOC Special Forces Advanced Tactical Practitioner (ATP).

Privately, he teaches firearms handling, remote first aid and Tactical Combat Casualty Care. In his free time, he rides and competes as an amateur enduro and adventure motorcycles off road racer.
